About Nick

My name is Nick Loyd. I am the Lead Pastor at Pathways Church in Mill Creek, WA. We are an in-formal, borderline irreverent, non-denominational, and open-minded church that tries to take God seriously but refuses to take ourselves all that seriously.  You can check out our tribe at www.findpathways.com

I’m 38-years old this year. I have a beautiful and gracious wife, Tania, and two kids .  My family is teaching me to slow down and celebrate life.  I enjoy sports, fitness, nerdy board games, podcasts, lots of HBO TV shows, hop farming, beer snobbery, video games, music, coffee, and lots and lots of books.

I like to express my thoughts through words. I am a follower of Jesus of Nazareth. I don’t belong to or vote for any particular political party or pledge allegiance to an ideology other than Christ. And the things I write and think may or may not reflect the broader views of the church I belong to.

But, most of all, I am trying to let God replicate Himself in me. Many times I fail. But, when I get to the end of my days, I want people closest to me to say, “we sure saw a lot of his God in him.” So, God, take all that I am…my imperfections and hangups, and rewrite your DNA in me. May I be a beautiful living imitation of You.

  1. Hi Nick,

I just wanted to tell you how refreshing it was to read your blogs. Still feeling like a “newborn” in my christian walk, I often question the judgemental behaviors I see in other christians. Reading your blog showed me again, that there are more of us than we know, just because we are not out there preaching loudly over the airwaves, but just loving one on one. Thank you!

  2. Hey Nick,
I was really blessed by your posts today. I thought I was just finding you on facebook! I had no idea that God was going to use you to speak to me today. I guess I could say more, but wow, you’ve given me lots that I just want to let soak in for a while. THanks so much!

  5. Nick, Todd and I really appreciate you sharing your truth seeking. This is truly what the community of God is, each of us sharing our journey in order to keep the whole moving down the road of truth. We love you and your family. God Bless you dear friend.

  6. Nick,

I really enjoyed reading your spiritual take on Jesus’ true message in “overcoming evil with good”. At the end of this teaching in Mathew 5, Jesus says, “be ye therefore perfect, as your Heavenly Father is perfect.” Could it be that He was reflecting and giving us the true nature of His Father’s perfection? God’s aways already blessings manifested in your life.

    In His love and awe,

    John
